If you Google the word "anaglyph", you will get many hits dealing with three-dimensional imaging. This is because anaglyph also means a three-D image made with red and blue filters. You know, the kind you have to view using those funky paper glasses.
I'm using a more traditional definition of the word, but with a non-traditional medium. Traditional anaglyph sculptures were done with gemstones, such as cameos. My anaglyphs are hand-carved out of mat board. The rich colours and bright white bevel of this medium result in a truly unique and original art form that must be seen to be appreciated. Here is the catalogue of my anaglyph designs. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.
All the anaglyph designs shown here are limited editions, which means I will make more than one of each. So, if you see one you like you can order one. As each one is hand-carved, there will be slight variations from one to the next, making each individual anaglyph a unique work of art. I also accept commissions, so if you have an idea you would like to see immortalized as an anaglyph, perhaps I can help you out with that!
Note that all anaglyphs are sold framed under glass to protect and preserve them, but I have shown many of them in the gallery unframed to better show the details of the design. I do all the framing myself to keep costs down.
Some seasonal designs:
These designs are mats that are meant for framing photographs. This is only a small sample of the many mats that I have created.
